This token (WITH the globe on the reverse) was produced in four materials - White metal, copper plated white metal, brass plated white metal and gold plated white metal.

NOTE: There is an example in the Bank of Canada's Currency Museum which does NOT have a globe on the reverse.
The example shown in both of P.N. Breton's catalogues show a globe on the reverse.
Here is the example from the BOC collection:



There is a second variety in the BOC Museum. This variety is missing the details in the center on both sides of the token:
