The Halling Co. Kamsack, Sask.
(Good For 1 Loaf Bread)

The Hailing Company started a general store in Canora in 1914 with H.W. Hailing as President, Frederick, secretary-treasurer and Alfred John Hailing, Vice-president. In 1915 the company expanded to Humboldt and Alfred became the manager. In 1916 a branch was started at Kamsack and shortly after they bought the Windsor Bakery to supply the bread for the three stores. Tokens were issued at this time and it is thought that they used the tokens in the 3 stores but no proof of this. The Kamsack store and bakery were sold in 1922.

Hawes Bakery Kindersley.
(Good For One Loaf.)

Harvey Hawes came to Kindersley in 1909. He was cooking on a CNR railway crew which was placing the rails through Kindersley. When the new Seymour Hotel opened for business Harvey was the first cook. He started a cafe on railway avenue in 1910, then in 1917 he moved his business up Main Street. In that location he added a bakery and confectionery to his coffee shop diner. After his passing his son Ormy took over the bakery and ran it for many years. In 1970 Ormy sold Hawes Bakery and moved to Saskatoon.
